I am trying out a
Free Form Triangles technique
I pawed through my scrap bag and found some
batiks, hand dyes and surface design fabrics
for the triangles...
I found a yard of Michael Miller
text fabric in the cupboard
that will work for a background.
Jean Wells of the Stitchin' Post
just shared a tutorial for this technique:
Lay the triangle down, cut the angle,
stitch the triangle onto the background fabric...
These go quickly.
It was a lot of fun using these triangle fabrics !
I began with a 7 inch wide strip
of the text fabric...
7 inches wide x 45 inches long.
I had to cut a second strip of text fabric...
I didn't want the fun to end !
This Free Form Triangles improv technique
was so enjoyable.....I will use this again.

Luann, thanks for the fun and scrappy project idea and thanks for all your other tutorials and projects. I guess it takes a pandemic for me to give credit where it's due.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Jo.......you are welcome!

What a fun way to play with triangles!! Looks like paper piecing without the necessity of removing papers!!!
