Remember this Sunflower quilt ?
It's been hanging around
basted and ready to quilt...
I quilted the center of the sunflower in January.
Today.....I decided to finish the quilting:
Here it is all trimmed and ready for the facing
Here are close-ups of the quilting:
This is all curved piecing.....no applique'
Batik Fabrics and my Hand Dyes
I used a long, curved ruler
to machine quilt all of those lines
I used 4 different shades of blue thread
for the background quilting
For the edge treatment,
I have decided a binding would be distracting
so I will face the edge.

I have enjoyed watching your sunflower quilt develop over time. The quilting is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the picture of the self haircut. Unfortunately, I took scissors to my hair last week. Not as obvious as the photo you posted but no where near the cut I get from my hairdresser. If I hadn't cut it, I would have to do Zoom meetings with a bag over my head. Quarantine started in Massachusetts 4 days before my overdue haircut was to have taken place. I love the messages of light, laughter, and kindness in these crazy time! I have been reading your blog for several years but seldom post, Now that I am home more, I'm able to take the time to reply.Take care and be well.
Thank you Donna for your very fun comments. Yes, we all need a bit of laughter relief at this time.
