Reflections of Autumn...

I began cutting and piecing this

Reflections of Autumn

quilt November of 2022

10 months later...it's on our bed !

Just in time for autumn...

This 10 inch wide leaf border is the

reason I fell in love with this fabric line

and created this quilt...

I mitered the corners on the border

and it turns the corner flawlessly...

Close-Up view of the quilting...

Glad this one is done just in time

to enjoy it this autumn.

Summer left us very quickly this year.

We have had 4 inches of rain in 4 days...

The downpour of rain was hard on all of

the flowers.  We began cleaning out all

of the flower beds yesterday

to put them to bed for the winter.

We are weaning calves this weekend,

so we will spend today getting

the barn ready for the calves.

Reflections of Autumn.....Quilt Top DONE

I started this quilt in November...

Reflections of Autumn

This is what it looked like in December...

( It is my Monday project )

By January the quilt top was complete...

It wasn't big enough for the bed...

so I added 2 additional borders...

It now measures 90 x 90

My favorite part of this quilt is this

gorgeous wide border of leaves...

It is now February and I found this beautiful

gold backing fabric 108 x 108...

Machine quilting can begin !

We were able to get out and do some

traveling along the rugged Oregon Coast

Port Orford, Oregon

It was good to get away for a few days

before the cows begin calving soon.

The mama cows all have

babies in their tummies.

The first baby is due February 22nd.

Catching Up With You...

We are still here !

I have been spending a lot of my time

feeding cattle....not so much sewing.

The Cowboy and I are a team...

I drive the hay wagon

and the Cowboy feeds the hay.

The cattle are scattered around...

we feed them in 5 different locations

every day.

We have been enjoying dry, frosty mornings

here in wet, wet, wet Western Oregon !

All of the cows are bred

and will begin calving in February 2023.

This is Doll Face......we just love her !

The Cowboy makes dealing with these

round bale feeders look easy...

they're big and awkward.

Another frosty morning with the cattle...

The goats are all doing just great,

here are two of them...

Little Lotta and her son Little Louie

It is salmon spawning season here along

the Big Elk River...

A pair of eagles sit in a snag above the river

and do their fishing just outside the back door.

Frozen leaves are always a favorite of mine...

I am in the 6th week of recovering from

a chest cold....cough, cough, cough!

I think I am gaining on it and was able

to do a bit of stitching this week,

My Reflections of Autum quilt top

is ready for the borders.

I just could not let the day go by

without wishing you all Happy Holidays!

Monday Project....Reflections of Autumn

On Mondays I meet up with my

Quilting Tribe @ The Quilt Palace...

This is my newest Monday quilt project:

Reflections of Autumn Quilt

I will only be working on this on Mondays

when I am @ The Quilt Place...

How gorgeous is this border panel !

16 beautiful autumn prints....yummy !

Close-Up View of a few of them:

I spent today sorting and labeling all of the

fabrics that came in the kit:

I was able to cut out all of the pieces too...

Before the end of the day I began

stitching a few squares together...

This was my first Monday working on this quilt

and what a wonderful day I had

handling all of these autumn prints.

Looking forward to next Monday !
