Painted Canvas...Western Theme

Giddy Up !

I spent the morning painting canvas...

gave it a bit of a Western Theme

I collect large foam stamps

when I see them at the thrift stores...

It was time to gather up the cowboy stamps

and giddy up!

Once the canvas was dry,

I sliced off a piece...

Tote Bag and 2 handles...

I had a great deal of FUN stitching

up this child size cowgirl tote bag:

One side of the tote bag...

Lined it with horse fabric...

Other side of tote bag.

I know a little cowgirl that will LOVE this bag!

Sunflower......Art Quilt

I have a new Monday project...

I am starting a new Sunflower quilt...

I meet with the Harlan Valley Quilters

each Monday.

This is my new Monday project...

This is the color story:

Blue for the sky behind the sunflower,

Green sunflower leaves,

Red, Orange, Yellow for the sunflower petals,

Dark browns and black

for the flower center...

The entire project is curved piecing...

a favorite of mine.

The sunflower is about 4 feet tall...

This is a great deal of fun...

it will take self control to work on

it only on Mondays!

Teasel grows everywhere

here in Western Oregon...

The bumble bees are loving it right now...

We are enjoying our summer.

The cattle are out on summer pasture,

they hay is in the barn,

life is good!

I am using Ann Shaw's pattern

Printing with Moldable Foam Stamps...

Permission 2 Play is playing with

Magic Moldable Foam Stamps

Class Samples......Foam Stamps

Grab a Name Tag...

Grab a Seat...

Class is about to begin!

Debbie is leading our class today...

Magic Moldable Foam Blocks...

Textures......Found Objects

Most anything with a texture works...

Heat the blue block with a heat gun

hint: hair dryers don't work

Moving quickly across the block,

heat for 30 seconds...

Keep your texture item nearby...

You will need to press the blue block onto

the texture item immediately.

Use ink or paint to load your stamp.

You can print on paper or fabric, etc.

We are using ink pads today.

Dye based inks clean up easier.

After inking your new stamp,

make your print.

You can heat up both sides of the foam block

and create a stamp impressions on each side.

The foam blocks can be reheated...

they become flat again...

then you create a new impression.

We cleaned our stamps with wipees.

Invite your friends over for a stamping party!
