I am experiencing a loss now and my heart is aching.
I need my art to comfort me, but I haven't been able to walk out to the Thread Shed and get started.
I watched this video....Art I want you.......and it helps.

I spent the afternoon out in the pasture taking autumn photos.
Dancer followed me around until he finally got the camera way from me.
I had no other choice but to give him a good scratching.
Two days ago this beautiful animal left our lives.
He died unexpectedly.
My heart is sad and broken.
I know I will feel better if I can just make myself go out into the Thread Shed and create. I long for the healing benefits of creating art...

LuAnn,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We get so use them being around, don't we? Remember all the good times...Linda G.
Oh LuAnn...my heart is heavy for you...losing such a beautiful animal is heart breaking. I have followed your blog since May and just love your quilts...you inspire me...don't worry you will be back 'creating' in a short time...perhaps a quilt in Dancer's memory. You just need some time to grieve...and I believe that Dancer 'deserves' your grief at this time. Take your time.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry Luann. I grew up with horses-- they are wonderful companions. I hope you get to your thread shed today and it helps you.
ReplyDeleteYour wonderful photos will give you comfort & good memories - you will know when the time comes to express that creatively. Our loving companions, be it dogs, cats or a horse give us so much that enriches our lives. I have also followed your blog for months now and am always so impressed with what you achieve. You will find a way...
ReplyDeleteLuAnn,
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I'm so sorry.

ReplyDeleteLuAnn - I'm so sorry for your loss! I also lost an animal recently. In July our 20 year old cat passed away. It was not sudden or unexpected, but still hurt. Give yourself time to grieve.
ReplyDeleteHi Lu,
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes and my heart is heavy. I love all animals and that is why I am vegetarian! Even hearing of someone else's loss hurts me. Your baby had a wonderful life with you, remember that.

Dear Anita, Diane, Taylorsoutback, JoJo, WhatComesNext, Lynn & Tinker,
ReplyDeleteI can feel the warmth of your compassion for Dancer and I thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Sorrow seems easier to bare when someone cries with you.
Tomorrow will be better,
LuAnn

ReplyDeleteIt is so easy to be attached to our animals.
Hi LuAnn,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for you and don't know what to say to comfort you except I wish I could give you a big hug. Dancer's pictures are beautiful and I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of him. Give yourself some time to grieve.
So sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved horse a year ago and it was devastating. All I can say is that eventually the crying stops and you can remember all the good times again.
ReplyDeleteYour loss is so great, maybe you need to pain of that loss for a while. The art will come back when your heart is not so sore.
