Improv....Technique 7.....Blocks Pieced

These are the freestyle cut and pieced blocks:

I finished up the blocks yesterday...

I need my work table cleared off,

so I pieced them together into a top today:

I don't think it needs a border treatment...

but I will think on it for awhile.

These colors and shapes remind me of my

Fiestaware Dishes

It was super frosty this morning...

check out the sunrise in the back yard:

We had to bundle up good before we

headed across the river to feed the cattle.....brrrr.

We have 52 new calves on the ground

with lots more to go !

  1. I really admire your drive to try new things all the time. It must be true that those who are super busy always find time to do more. I guess I am stuck and even with more time on my hands, I cannot muster the energy to dive into anything. But I certainly enjoy looking at your work. Annick H.

    1. Start with 15 minutes of creative time.....even if it is sorting fabric or doing a bit of clean up and organizing. That 15 minutes can lead to greater things.....try it!

  2. LuAnn I am in awe of your work. This latest creation is so beautiful. It looks like a painting to me. My name for it is: "Finding our footing." I feel this last month as been one of great transition and just this morning I took a deep breathe and felt the earth stop moving under my feet. Thank you sharing a piece of you with all of us. All the best. Susan R.

  4. Another fabulous quilt!!! You are so creative, I just love the way you are willing to walk us through what you are making!! I haven't touched my sewing machine or fabric in almost a month. Too many other demands on my time and energy with a the paperwork and files I need to deal with after the death of my dad last month. Your pictures, cows, goats, flowers, quilts...all bring me joy. Thank you.
