This time of the year we are feeding cattle
in 4 different locations
This is the West Fork
Cow and Calf pairs...
The mama cows gather around the round bale
and eat until they are full...
their calves linger along the fringes waiting
for their turn at the bale.
This is Apple Annie...
when she was a calf, she would come up to our yard fence,
where the apple tree was loaded with apples
and bawl loudly until I would come out
of the house and feed her apples.
She comes by her name honestly!

Love seeing this! Wow...a 20 yr old cow. I thought she was getting ready to drop a calve! You take such good care of your herd(s)!!!! Bless you and Cowboy!
ReplyDeleteYes, Lizzy is 20+ years old. Our niece showed her in FFA when she was in high school. Our niece graduated in 2000. She raises a nice calf each year and has become our lead cow when we move the cows down the road to new pastures. She knows the way and shows everybody else which way to go.
