Horse Panel....Progress

I continue the design work on this

Horse Panel

The Rising Sun blocks on the bottom work

nicely with the mountain blocks on top but...

I feel like they are too small.

I cut out a 12 inch Rising Sun Block...

4 inches bigger than the first blocks

Here is the 12 inch block on the design wall...

Three of the 12 inch blocks fit nicely...

Yes, the larger, bolder blocks work...

Now you can see just how small those

first 8 inch Rising Sun blocks really are...

I chose a putty color fabric as an accent border

around the horse panel...

Now to audition final border fabrics.

It rained for the first time in 4 months

and I was able to capture lots of

rain drop images:

Rain drops bead up beautifully on

Lupine leaves

They form large drops, mound up

and you can see right through them...

This is the center of a lupine leaf and the

drops have collected into one large drop

and you can see right through it...

Love those Lupine rain drops !

The sweet baby bumble bees

did not like the rain at all...

They are all wet and waiting for the sun

to warm them up so they can fly again.

  1. Beautiful photos. Where we live south of Albuquerque, NM we recently got 1/4" of rain which was the most since 1/4" at the end of March! We've also had months of record high heat. Even my perennials have been dying in spite of drip irrigation, but yours still are beautiful. Hopefully they will come back from the roots next year.

    1. Thanks Linda! Yes, the heat is so hard on the flowers. Mine suffered most of the summer from high heat.
