Periwinkle Quilt...

Quilters Project Bag

I have packed several quilt projects around

in this bag since I made it 2 years ago...

This is what I have stored in the bag now:

Periwinkle Quilt Project

Everything I need for the projects fits

nicely in this bag including all of the fabrics,

pattern, templates and blocks pieced so far...

Periwinkle Quilt Block

made with 5 inch charm squares...

My work table today...

Wool press mat, cutting mat, clapper,

pattern pieces all cut and ready to go !

Assembly Line Piecing...

all of the pieced units piling up

behind the back of the sewing machine.

Assembly Line Pressing...

This is a very efficient and enjoyable

way to work...

Loving this traditional little

Periwinkle Block

aka Kite Quilt

The center pieces are shaped like a kite

The blocks are piling up quickly...

The more I make,

the more I like them !

I have to move on to another project,

so I will put all of this back in the

project storage bag for another day...

Team Work...

She began sewing on my Bernina

when she was 4 years young...

She is now 10 years of age...

She came over during her Spring Break

in April and pieced the star...

She came back over the Summer and

finished piecing the quilt top...

We will team up to complete the Quilt:

I basted it and completed the machine quilting...

She has been busy playing volleyball

and basketball...

She has quilted small projects so far,

but nothing this large...

This is the backing fabric she chose...

I completed the binding last week...

The Raiders Quilt is completed,

all wrapped up and under the tree...

just in time for her to gift it to her father.

I feel the future of quilting in our family

will go on for many more years

thanks to team work like this.

Medallion Star Quilt...DONE !

The last time I posted this quilt

it was still on the design wall...

I was just finishing up the borders...

Today the machine quilting is complete

and I am in the binding stage...

I always use my trusty Folgers can to hold my

binding while I am at the machine...

I can't live without my clips

to hold down the folded edge of the binding...

I recently made a few of these Clam Up pouches

to hold my binding clips...

The pouches open wide and it is easy

to get the clips in and out while I am working...

Machine Quilting Close Ups:

I used a C fill for the center of the quilt...

A curly feather for the pieced border

that surrounds the center medallion star...

C fill again in the small stars area of the quilt...

The final border on the right side,

I used my straight ruler and did

some crosshatch grid quilting...

This is a queen size bed quilt  90 x 90 inches

It is a holiday gift

and nothing gets things done like...

a deadline !

The label is sewn to the back side...

Need to find a box and get this wrapped

and under the tree...

Believe it or not,

I still have one more quilt to finish up...yikes !

Clam Up Pouch...

Clam Up Pouch aka Dumpling Bag

This bag turned out great in this

coneflower fabric...

The pattern came with a free video

which was very helpful...

The bag opens up wide so is very easy

to reach into...

I made it to hold my jumbo clips...

Pull tabs on the bottom...

Pellon Fusible Foam keeps it sturdy...

Yes, I am making more !

I just posted new Cow Feeding Videos

to Instagram
