Monday......Sunflower Progress Report

Today is Monday...

I spent the day with the

working on my sunflower quilt.

I am filling in the top left corner area...

This area is green leaves and blue background...

It is all filled in at this point:

That nearly solid brown down the center of

the flower head is bothering me...

it appears to cut the flower in half...

I don't like it.

Here is a closer look

at the brown strip in the center...

I removed the strip...

I found another brown fabric that has

some texture to it...

it blends and works better for the center.

The center of the sunflower is no longer

split in half......ahhhh.

Next Monday I will finish up

piecing the seams.

More to Come!

    1. I will be at the Quilt Palace next week for a quilt retreat, so I am hoping to make lots of progress on the Sunflower quilt. I will take progress photos as I work on it.

      Thanks,
      LuAnn

  3. When I viewed the sunflower on my big computer screen at home, that center brown fabric stuck out like a sore thumb and cut the sunflower in half vertically. I couldn't wait to get back to the Quilt Palace the next Monday and rip that baby off the wall and replace it with something that worked!

    Thanks,
    LuAnn
