Calypso......3 Rows to Quilt

Sunday Morning...

Day 7

I came out to the Thread Shed to get a few hours of
quilting done on the Calypso Quilt.

When I opened the curtains,
the sunlight cascaded beautifully across the quilt:

This is what wool batting does for your quilting...

Lots of yummy texture !

Check out the difference between the
Un-Quilted vs Quilted Blocks...

By noon.....only 3 rows left to quilt on Calypso

But, that will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am off to town to bring the baby quilt to the Mama:

Calypso......Progress Report

I was able to quilt most of the day on the
Calypso Quilt:

Day 6

This is a birthday gift for my son,
so I am chasing my tail to get this done by
next weekend.....eek!

I am using a wool batting...

I am pleased with the texture that the fern motif
is providing...

There are 15 vertical rows of blocks in this quilt...

5pm tonight...
9 rows have been quilted with ferns

More to come~

Baby Quilt.....Label

I printed up a quilt label this morning
and stitched it on the baby quilt:

It's all ready for the baby shower tomorrow!

What's wrong with this picture?

Rather than think one of the hens is slacking...

I like to believe she is giving it her best effort!

Calypso Quilt.......Fern Quilting

Time to focus on quilting the Calypso Quilt:

Day 5

The fabrics have a tropical flavor so I decided to
quilt ferns...

The Dry Erase board is a favorite for trying out new motifs...

Another FUN tool:

BLACK Dry Erase Board...

Neon Markers...

Makes me want to do a black quilt with Neon Threads

Time to sit down at the Sweet Sixteen:

The ferns add a great texture to the quilt:

Now...I need to put down the camera and get busy.
I am hoping to have this ready for my son's birthday next weekend.
Wish me luck!

Baby Quilt........Ready for Sunday

Monday I began fussy cutting baby blocks
and piecing a baby quilt...

I wish this was a panel, but it is all pieced...

Tuesday I added the borders...

Basted and Quilted the Baby Quilt...

Friday, today, I put the binding on by machine:

I had some help.....Gunnr slept under the sewing machine.

Gunnr is recovering from his surgery 2 weeks ago:

His paw is covered with a little booty
to keep him from licking his stitches.

He wants to show you his boo boo:

One more week and the stitches should be out.

There wasn't quite enough bubble fabric for the back side,
so I added fabric with black & white spots down the center...

Now the backing fabric is just the right size.

The binding is sewn down,
and the baby quilt is all done.

The quilt is ready to take to the baby shower on Sunday.

Gunnr.......Feeling Much Better

So many of you have sent Well Wishes to Gunnr
since his surgery.

It worked.....he's feeling much better!

Look and see for yourself:

Gunnr spent the morning baking apple pies...

He likes the crust best...

Apple Pies....Ready to go in the Oven...

Cooling in the kitchen window...

Gunnr has something special planned for one of these pies....

Gunnr has a veterinary appointment tomorrow:

He is bringing Dr. Braat an apple pie
to THANK him for taking care of his foot.

I haven't made too much progress on the
this last week...

I will be back at it real soon!
