Falling into Place...

After a month of battling with rainy weather
and mechanical break downs,
we are making progress in the hay fields.

View from the back door...
This hay field is just across the river.

You can see the tractor parked with our neighbor's
round baler behind it.
(our baler has not been repaired from the fire yet)

Lots of big 6 foot round bales ready to be stored away
for the winter cow feed.

After a long day of baling hay, Brad crossed the river on foot
and came up into the back yard and cooked steaks
over a campfire for all of us.

The yearling cattle just can't resist coming up to the fence
to see what's going on in the yard.

Thermofax Printing on Shirts...

This note has been hanging around for weeks.

I decided to pay attention to it today...

I am in need of work shirts for when I am using
textile paints.
Something to cover up and keep me clean.

I thought it would be fun to decorate my work shirts...

Thermofax Printing came to mind.

Versatex Screen printing Inks

I prefer Versatex over Speedball.
Versatex are a bit thicker and hang on the scraper better.

This shirt came home from the thrift store with me
last week...

3 layers of thermofax designs printed so far...

This shirt is ready for fun!

I have had this work shirt for awhile,
but thought it could use some printing too.

Pink Coneflowers & Black Birds

After I added orange sunflowers....it's done.

I have worked in this shirt for years...
It is time to cover up all the paint stains.

Birds on a Wire is one of my newest screens.

This shirt is ready for fun!

3 shirts to wear...
Makes me want to put one on and do some more
textile painting!

The End

Speaking of Ends...

This Starling doesn't like Gunnr out playing in the yard.
It must have babies nearby somewhere.
When Gunnr is playing with his ball, the bird swoops down from the tree and pecks him on his fanny.
This has been going on for weeks!
Gunnr, of course, could care less, and doesn't even acknowledge the bird in any way.
He is so in love with his blue ball that nothing else matters...

The Kindness of Neighbors...

There's no one nicer than a neighbor...
There's no one more loyal and true.

Yes, you see 2 Balers in our hay field...

Neither one belongs to us...

Our neighbor came over this evening to help us
get our hay baled.
(after he baled his own hay all day today)

This baler belongs to Brad's cousin.
Brad is pulling it with the green tractor.

Many Thanks to our neighbors for lending a helping hand
when we needed it most.

Our baler is parked in the barn lot for now.
We are hoping to repair the damage caused by the fire.

I watered the flower beds this morning:

Water Droplets on an Iris Leaf

Look closely to see the reflection of the flower bed
in the biggest droplet on top of this leaf

The sun came out and dried up the water droplets...
Glad I took these images !

I got away from the hay field and the barn lot
later in the day and spent a few hours in here:

I put a cord bound edge treatment on
" Day Dreaming "

I also mended a few clothes for my kids.

It felt good to hear the soothing hum
of the sewing machine...
Music to my Soul.
