Fabulous Finish.....Number 1

It's official....

My first Fabulous Finish for 2022

" Bird Seed "

Flying Geese and Pumpkin Seeds

I put this top together last Spring

and all that was left was the binding:

I use a 20 inch square ruler

to square up and trim off the corners...

then I trim off the sides...

All the rough edges are trimmed off

and it is ready for binding....

I cut my binding strips 2  1/4 inches

This is a lap quilt that will be used and

washed a lot,  so I am putting the

binding on by machine:

After the binding is sewn to the front,

then flipped over to the back side,

I used wonder clips every inch to keep it in place

so the back side does not shift while stitching...

Front side of binding...

Back side of binding

I quilted wonky flying geese in the borders...

Feathers are quilted around the pumpkin seeds...

This is heavily quilted and will stand up

to lots of use over the years.

Oh that sense of completion...

makes you feel great !

    1. Hi Farm Quilters,
All this quilt needed was a binding, so it was an easy first! Wish they all went that fast.

    1. Thank you Vicki for your kind words. This has been my Monday quilt that I stitch on each Monday when I join up with my local quilt group. It is good to get this one off the UFO list.

      Wishing you a sunny winter,
