He's been around so long he finally has a name...
FELIX
This super cute elk calf has been living
with our cattle for a couple of months now.
Each morning he follows the hay truck
through the field
as the Cowboy flakes off hay to the cows.
I captured a video of FELIX yesterday...

It seems Felix's mommy is long gone so it is good he found a friendly group to hang with. I will be interesting to see if he ends up staying or joins a group of elk when they roam thru the area. It makes me wonder if he realizes he is an elk and not a cow. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty,
DeleteFelix lived in the pasture with our older cow herd for 3 months. He left last week, probably hooking up with another elk herd passing through. There are quite a few elk that live here year round in this little valley. He is off doing the wild thing. We will miss him.
Hugs,
LuAnn
This is so sweet!!!! And he has a family!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Robbie,
DeleteYes, Felix became one of the bunch! He lived with the cows for 3 months, sharing hay each morning when we showed up to feed them. He left last week. We miss him but glad he is back in the wild where he belongs.
Hugs,
LuAnn
