Improv.....Zip Case

The rain ran us out of plowing the hay fields

so I am taking the day to play !

I think this was my Improv 6 technique

that I was playing with back in 2020...

Free hand cutting and curved piecing...

I made about 6 feet of this

and there it sat...

I pulled it off the shelf,  cut off a hunk of it

and made this zip case:

Side 2

Interior.....Blue Squares Batik

I squared up the bottom

and added a leftover zipper end on the side.

This was great FUN !

I had an itch to stitch

and I scratched it !

As soon as the field dries out

we will run the harrow and packer over it

then it will be time to drill it...

the end is in sight !

Plowing the Hay Fields...

I am behind the wheel of the John Deere today...

I do love me some plowing in the fall...

The Cowboy rebuilt the plow

so I am ready to ROCK 'N ROLL...

After a very dry spring and summer

the plow is kicking up some dust...

I have my tunes playing,

the A/C is keeping me cool,

it is a great day to be out doors !

The cattle are all doing just fine...

Everybody is bellied up to the hay feeders...

We will wean the calves in November.

My gorgeous Golden Girl

Shearing Sheep

The Sheep Shearer is on the way...

The sheep are waiting in the barn...

I'm not fat......I'm FLUFFY !

The little white face on the right is the mama...

The black and white face is her son, Arthur.

The sheep shearer is here:

The Hooves are trimmed...

The shearing only takes a few minutes...

Look at all the fleece that was sheared off !

Wow....they look great !

Bernie the dog wonders, "I hope I'm not next."

Working Ground and Candy Corn Banner...

No stitching for me this week...

No gentle hum of a sewing machine...

I hear the roar of a tractor engine !

It's that time of year,

we are working up the hay fields:

The Cowboy has the disc

hooked up to the John Deere

for me to take it for a spin !

The Cowboy just rebuilt the disc and we

want to see just how good it cuts through the sod...

Day 2 the John Deere has a flat tire:

The Cowboy hooks the disk up to my

little red International tractor...

Day 3  I finished the field,

the rebuilt disc works great...

it is now ready to be plowed.

The John Deere sits waiting for its'

new tire to arrive.

When you have "down" time in the hay fields,

you can listen to the hum of your sewing machine:

How stinkin' cute is this Candy Corn banner !

I had so much FUN...I made 4 of them!
