Smokey The Bear...

Paul Harvey Quilt at Lake Tahoe

Smokey the Bear
with Paul Harvey Quilt on his shoulder

The landscape is
incredibly green for this time of year!
Oregon is not the only state that has had lots of wet weather.

Horses always seem to gather around a building...

No matter what state it happens to be in!

This baby could go at any moment...

Leaving Nevada today and heading back into California.

The change of scenery is just what we needed.
I am inspired by our travels and anxious to get some cloth under the needle soon!

More tomorrow...

Paul Harvey in California & Nevada...

California Ponies

I threw
Paul Harvey over the rail fence to take a photo...and it scared the ponies. The poor babies jumped up and ran away!
Once I walked away to get back and take the photo, they realized there was no danger, and were rather interested in the quilt.
Made for a pretty picture...

I never leave home without a
hand project.
I have made several queen size quilts over the years by hand sewing them while we travel along at 55 mpg

I have lots of images to share with you.....60 bottles of fabric paint at a garage sale today, fabric that looks like barb wire, a foam stamp shaped like a dog, lots of great treasures.

The problem is the
wi-fi on the road is not so dependable....it cuts you off right in the middle of an image download.....which can be a bit irritating.

We are on the road for a few more days, I will try and stay in touch and keep you posted on our travels.

Paul Harvey at Mt Shasta...

Mt. Shasta

I never leave home without my favorite quilt
"Paul Harvey"
It goes everywhere I go.

I just sleep better when we are on the road if I have Paul Harvey with me.

We are on our way to Lake Tahoe

Rooster
We pulled into fuel up and this handsome guy greeted us with a nod of his beak.

I think he was expecting a treat...
Like the gas station attendant he said,
"Fill 'er Up"

I have visited a quilt shop or two since leaving Oregon as well as several thrift stores and found a few treasures.

More Tomorrow....

Storage.....Class Supplies

I am packing for a class on Saturday

This is how I store my class supplies

Storage
A few years ago I could no longer store supplies for all of the classes and techniques I use in my textile art out in the Thread Shed.
I began storing supplies by class or technique in these big Rubbermaid Totes.
They stack in the garage and no longer take up floor space in the Thread Shed.
Each tote is labeled by the class or technique: Shaving Cream Printing, Jello Printing, Foiling, Mixed Media, Paper Quilts, etc.
When it is time to teach a class or do a technique, I just grab the labeled tote and it contains everything I need.

Here are a few things I saw today...

Fence along the gravel road we live on...

Grass along the gravel road...
I plan to bring some of this to the Jello Printing Class on Saturday

Volunteer Pansies growing along the edge of the flowerbed

Tinkerbells in a hanging basket...

This is my favorite view...
Gunnr & Brad pulling down the driveway

I love the silhouette of Gunnr's ears through the windshield.

He just loves going to do morning chores with Brad each day.

Jello Quilt......Class Sample

I spent the day finishing up a class sample for the Jello Class on Saturday

" Country Roads "

This jello print has been hanging around since last summer.
The print is a weed that grows along the gravel road I live on.

I added the pink background fabrics and quilted it today

My sister spent the day in the Thread Shed today.
She suggested the orange binding, which was perfect.
She also helped name the quilt.

I hope you all have a sister.....and I hope she is a quilter like mine!

This photo is brought to you by Suzy...

Suzy is a 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier
She sleeps soundly to the hum of the sewing machine

I am calling it a day and heading back into the house

Dandelion
A lot of these are growing in the yard right now

Make a Wish...
