Oh, I love calving season!! One of these years I'm going to be home for calving season and I'll have to see if I can help out with it at my niece's farm. I know it is crazy busy for your Cowboy, but I love seeing the babies! If #5 was a heifer, what the total count heifer/bull calves? Mom was very patient...you could tell that she was really paying attention to what he was doing to her baby!
Hi Maggie, we check the sky every day, but haven't seen a turkey vulture yet. The bald eagles have been enjoying all of the afterbirth at the calving grounds. We expect a vulture to show up any day now.

ReplyDeleteMother Nature always keeps the bull/heifer count right at 50/50.....always amazes me every year that half the calves are bulls and half are heifers.

Hey LuAnn. Are the vultures back? I thought I saw two but was thinking it's too early. Now here you come with babies. Cute, cute babies! :)
