  4. Portrait quilts are some of my favorites. Did you see Maria Elkins entry? I love that you shared your process in making this one. I've not used photoshop, but am thinking of purchasing it.

  5. A very informative post. Thank you so much for sharing. I was at first drawn to the quilt because of its likeness to my granddaughter. I am definitely going to try this process! Lovely blog by the way. I will return!

  7. Many Thanks for all of your kind and supportive comments. Yes, my niece likes the portrait quilt, however she made mention that she didn't have nearly THAT many freckles!
I use the abbreviated version of Photo Shop, called Photo Shop Elements. It is only a fraction of the cost, but is a great software program and quite easy to learn.

  12. This is quite pretty and I have a hard time deciding I it's your work or your niece that makes it so. Aw heck, it's both!

  13. For me, the image is so vital to my work.
As soon as the camera clicks I just know when a specific image will work its way into a quilted textile someday.
The perfect image doesn't come along just any day, but when it does it gets my heart racing and inspires me to create it in cloth.

  15. I must try this technique. If it wasn't so late, I would start tonight. The weekend will be here soon, right?
