Jelly Roll Rug.....Progress

The last time you saw this jelly roll rug

it looked like this...

this is 4 hours into this project.

I stitched on it again today...

I finished stitching the batting inside

of all of the strips

and rolled them into a big ball...

This is my set up:

The big ball is sitting in a glass bowl

between my feet...

This allows it to feed easily as I stitch...

In order to keep it perfectly flat,

I press the rug after

I add each round of stitching...

Use lots of steam!

It gets bigger quickly...

It is 30 inches in length at this point...

with lots of strips left to sew around.

I am a total of 10 hours into this project...

I am thinking I may have it finished

next Monday

in a couple of hours.

Very FUN and enjoyable!

Messy Painted Canvas Tote Bags...

In between running across the river to check

on the new calves,

I spent a few hours in the Thread Shed

stitching painted canvas tote bags together...

Painted Canvas Tote Bags

The canvas was painted by a

4 year old and 21 year old

They spent a lovely day painting...

I told them I would make them something

with their painted canvas...

Tote bags are always a favorite!

It will be FUN to surprise them with their new

Messy Painted Canvas Bags

I have lots of painted canvas....

next time I will stitch up

Messy Painted Zipper Bags

The baby goats are a week old:

They are really growing!

Cattle in the Snow and Jelly Roll Rug...

We woke up to SNOW this morning...

The calves enjoyed romping around

in the SNOW

After we checked for new calves

and bedded the barns,

I headed for the Quilt Palace

to join up with the Harlan Valley Quilters...

This is my new Monday project @ the Palace:

Jelly Roll Rug

Jelly Roll strips....

I stitched all of the strips together,

end-to-end,

assembly line style

The batting is stitched inside the strips...

I am 4 hours into this project

and it is moving along quickly.

Looking forward to working on it again

next Monday.
