Handcrafted Foam Stamps.....Fabrics

Last evening I cut out a few more

foam stamps...

I have been itching to print

with them ever since...

I am using Jacquard Textile paints today...

I am using a foam roller to apply the paint...

I am working in the Thread Shed

on my big board ironing board...

covered with a drop cloth.

My plan is to stamp the first layer

with light paint...

Then, over-stamp with a darker paint...

Light mustard yellow paint...

Over-stamp with dark brown paint...

What a FUN afternoon of stamping!

Lots of stamped fabrics to put in my stash!

I will let them dry overnight,

then heat set them with an iron tomorrow.

Foam Stamps....lots of FUN!

I wasn't alone today...

Just outside the Thread Shed

is the barn and corral.

The Boer goats and yearling cattle

kept me company.

Button Necklace...

Over the winter months

I sorted and organized my buttons...

I pulled out the white buttons,

chain, and jump rings...

to create this button necklace...

Lots of FUN!

I added a few charms at the bottom.

This was great FUN and I am planning

my next button project!

This is what is going on in the back yard today:

The tulips are blooming....in the rain

I just adore photographing rain drops

We are still spending lots of time across the river
 at the cow barns.

Painted Canvas....Tote Bag

Remember when I posted about

Messy Painted Canvas

Play Days?

You gather your friends together

and paint canvas...

Then, everyone gets a piece of the canvas...

This is what I did with my hunk of canvas:

I stitched it into a tote bag

Side 1

Side 2

I lined the inside and put leather handles on it.

Lots of FUN!

I only have time for small projects right now

and this was so enjoyable for me.

Sewing and Calving...

This time of year I think about sewing and

quilting more than I actually do any of it...

The Thread Shed has been mostly silent

the last few months...

I did enjoy stitching these 2 bunny dolls

last week.

While I am thinking about sewing and quilting,

I am here at the cow barns:

Calving season began 6 weeks ago

and we are half way done.

We have red and white Shorthorn calves

this year

I just adore this super cute heifer

After 3 years of Black Angus calves,

these Shorthorn calves are...

a punch of color for me!

This pretty heifer is Ruby...

She is a chip off the old block:

This is Ruby's daddy, Fernando.

She is marked exactly like him,

including the white heart on her forehead!

Remember this little guy?

This is our very first calf this year, Ollie

This is Ollie today....6 weeks old

It will be May before we are done calving...

I will try and sneak in a few stitches

every chance I get!

Kessi Farms....6th Generation

Kessi Farms is a Century Farm

Homesteaded in 1911

Here I am with the 6th generation Kessi

At 3 years of age she already wants

me to teach her how to use my sewing machine!

What more could I ask for...really?

New Calf at the Cow Barn...

When we arrived at the cow barns this morning...

This little calf was waiting for us

It wasn't long before Mama had her new baby

out in the orchard with her.
