I haven't made a
fabric wrapped clothesline bowl
in 5 years...
I thought I would give it a try:
Just as much FUN as I remembered !
The fabric strips are a few
batiks and some hand dyes...
The oval shape was easier than I remembered...
It is rainy, dark and gloomy outside...
these colors cheered me up !
This one will replace the one I made 5 years ago
that we store our remote controls in.

Nice and bright for these gloomy days. What a great idea for the remotes! I really love to dye the rope instead.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I have some clothesline and I have fabric!! I'm trying to make a rug using 2 jelly rolls with batting inside. I've got the first sewing part finished, now to the scary part of making it into a rug!! I'm hoping it will be the right size to use at my kitchen sink!
ReplyDeleteI seem to be better at oval than round. I went back and looked at your other bowls. Outstanding. I liked that you wrapped a lot of your cord or all of it before you started making the bowls. I do mine as I go, so I think I will try your method next time. That might be some of the reason my round bowls get a little wonky.
ReplyDeleteBowl wrapping is good TV work. When I am in a bowling mood, I will wrap several bowls, then take them to the machine the next day and stitch them together.
