I invited my Art Sisters over for a
Day of Play...
We are creating......Wonky Coasters
Art Sisters.....Playing with Felt
1mm felt is cut for the next 2 layers
of the coaster
Three layers of felt to create each coaster.
I made my own templates from manila folders.
Each template shape comes in
several different sizes.
A glue stick can be used to secure the three
layers of felt shapes to hold them together until
you get your stitching completed.
Using 3mm felt, cut out the largest shape for
the base of the coaster...
Using 1 mm felt, cut out the medium size shape
for the 2nd layer of the coaster.
Then use 1mm felt to cut out the smallest
top layer of the coaster.
Here are all three layers of the coaster.
At this point, you can use a glue stick
to hold them all together.
Take them over to your sewing machine
and stitch...
You can drop the feed dogs, pull up the
bobbin thread and do some free motion,
scribble stitching on them...
or you can stitch regular with your feed dogs up...
the choice is yours.....both ways work just fine.
It doesn't take long before they start...
piling up !
The girls wrapped them up in sets with ribbon...
for gift giving.
Be Warned...
These are FUN and very addicting !

These would even be great to teach little how to sew...the bigger of the littles. They all could have fun picking out the shapes/colors and putting them together! Fabulous gifts!!
