Raffle Quilt.......Machine Quilting

I am back at it again...

Yes, the Raffle Quilt

I feel a bit rusty...
It has been over a month since I had this under the needle.
I need to finish the feather fill in the background areas.

Then I plan to do a feathery vine in the border:

At this point I could call it done...

It is 8pm and I am tired...

Tomorrow I will probably go in and quilt all over the applique flowers, vines and leaves.
I am not a fan of puffy applique...

Pacific Sunset.....Leaves
This afternoon I went outside to eat my lunch and admire this tree.

Just couldn't resist bringing a few of these back into the house and press them in a phone book.
This winter they will be used for jello printing, leaf stamping, tracing, masking, etc.

  1. I have just viewed all your posts on this lovely raffle quilt. Your fabric choices and oversize applique flowers and leaves have transformed an already beautiful quilt. Did you make the whole quilt or did your guild do the quilt top?
This week I am finishing a raffle quilt that I designed for my guild. My applique is done in wool and is a Christmas quilt. A very talented gentleman in the guild offered to do the quilting. It is 80" square and I thought it might be a pain to free motion quilt on my Bernina 430.
I have pics of the progress on my blog, need to take latest pic of the quilting. The binding is all that is left to do.
I know you will raise a lot of $$$ on this beauty you have made.

  4. Hi Colleen,
The Harlan Valley Quilters created the quilt top.
I added the applique work and the machine quilting.
We donate a quilt each year to the Women's Cancer Coalition to use as a raffle quilt. All proceeeds benefit women's cancer programs in our area.
