  1. Hey LuAnn, I love your post, as always! If you put those scrap strips outside, maybe along with some cut off selvedges, some birds might pick them up for their nests. I used to do that and had a lot of fun watching them. Especially if it was windy and the strips had become wrapped around the fence. It was like a tug of war with the birds almost hovering to get strip off that fence!

    1. Oh Maggie I just love that idea! Thanks for clueing me in there. It won't be long before the birds are looking for nesting materials. We have several pairs of Tree Swallows that come back year after year to nest here in our front flower bed as well as barn swallows, black birds and the like. It will be FUN to watch them at work with the trimmings.
      Many Thanks,
      LuAnn

    1. Hi Vicki.....A few minutes here, a few there.....gets more done than we all think we can do. When we do the morning chores and check on the cattle, as soon as we get home I head for the Thread Shed to get in some stitching. If I dilly dally in the house, I never make it out there. Today we fixed fence, the bulls got out last evening, so there was no time for sewing but....tomorrow is another day to try and fit in some sewing time.

Thanks and good to hear from you,
      LuAnn

  3. Silky is beautiful!!! New babies!!! Fixing fences is a necessary evil and judging from the steers we had, they are hard to keep contained! We had to hunt ours down a few times when they jumped our fences. Gorgeous blocks!!

  4. I can't wait to see your border, love the blocks. That is on my bucket list of things to make. I've always thought Golden Retriever puppies are the cutest, your calves are a close second!
