I spent the week in Idaho
When we arrived...
SNOW on the ground !
We quickly got settled into our room...
My roomie.....Larissa
Lots of natural light fills the sewing room...
Lots of inspiration here !
This is my home away from home for the week...
I am free motion quilting this
butterfly table runner...
I faced the edge for a clean finish...
This butterfly runner is nearly 6 feet long
and will fit nicely on our kitchen table.
Just beyond the trees is Twin Lakes
Icicles
Here are just a few of the projects
the Quilt Retreaters are creating:
Penny's Pumpkins
Larissa is a newbie quilter
and just learning to use a quarter inch foot
and do precision piecing on
traditional quilt blocks
This is the start of her Sampler Quilt
Donna's Table Mat
Penny's Baby Quilt
Cheryl's Bias Square Quilt
Each night the Fat Quarter Fairy
would come by and leave hand made gifts
by each sewing machine.
I brought along my hand pieced
hexy runner tops...
I layered the runners with batting and felt
and stitched them down to the felt...
Stitching in the Ditch...
Just need to trim off some of the felt around the edge and give it a press.
Sunset at Twin Lakes
We had lots of Quilty FUN...
Now, back to the real world !
Happy Halloween to YOU !

Love your butterfly runner!!!! Of course, your quilting is fabulous!!! Looks like it was a very productive week for everyone. A good vaca/break for you...you and the cowboy work hard all year long and deserve a break from time to time.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is refreshing to get away for a bit and see some new country and always good to get back home and sleep in my own bed. Many thanks for your always kind comments.

Wow that looks like a great retreat! Beautiful scenery, lots of space to work, good lighting, and the company of other quilters to get inspiration from. Your butterflies are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank You Shasta for your very nice comments. I feel lucky to be invited to such a beautiful quilt retreat each October. It feels great to get home with a few projects done.
DeleteHappy Autumn To You,
LuAnn
I think I am green with envy! I was signed up for a 5 day quilt class that got cancelled in march and could be cancelled again NEXT March. THanks for the quilty eye candy. Love your butterflies. Any chance you know the name of Patti's pumpkin quilt pattern? I think it just jumped on my Bucket List!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
DeleteI will check with Penny and see if she has a quilt pattern name for you.
LuAnn
Hi Again Beth,
DeletePenny said that she made up the pumpkins as she went along. She chose a different 5 inch finished pieced block for the center of each pumpkin.
