Color.......More is More!

Here is your color blast for the day

Each morning I water the flowers,

they change so much from the day before...

The flowers give me lots of inspiration

for choosing colors for my quilts...

This is the view out the back door...

This flower bed is full of State Fair Zinnias...

State Fair Zinnias get your attention:

No need to enhance these images...

these Zinnias are just this colorful!

Orange State Fair Zinnia

so I am a bit obsessed with them right now.

Hollyhocks......always an attention getter!

Orange Cone Flowers

Now that is juicy orange!

Red Rudbeckia

Deep Pink Dahlia

Red Dahlia

All of these flowers are in the warm color family.

Lots of in-your-face color!

I hope this gives you lots of color inspiration

for your future quilting projects.

Color.....Soft and Subtle

I took the camera with me again this morning

while watering the flowers...

I love color....vibrant color!

Yet this white lily, with almost

the absence of color, is gorgeous.

This very neutral image of Queen Anne's Lace

is also beautiful and doesn't need any more color.

Neutral colors can be so relaxing and soothing.

Dollar Pony and Freckles

are enjoying their breakfast.

The yearling cattle are all black this year.

White Star Lily

The little pink stripe creates lots of drama.

The soft pink and yellow in this spider dahlia

allows the butterfly to get all the attention.

Passion Flower

The lavender spikes are wonderful.

Just the tiny dark pink in the center of this

Cosmo

grabs your attention...

Color doesn't always have to shout at you to get

your attention.....soft and subtle works too.

Since I am a more is more girl...

I just had to throw some bright color at you

with these Cosmos!

I will take the camera out again tomorrow

while I water the flowers and give

you a big, bright, color tour of the yard.

More to come!

Quilted Crayon Tote Bag...

I quilted up a fat quarter sandwich and

turned it into a tote bag

that holds crayons...

Crayon Tote Bag

It holds 20 crayons on the outside of the bag...

You can fill the inside with

stickers, pads, color books, etc.

It took about an hour of my time...

I think it will take up many hours of her time!

Back in the Hay Fields...

The rain chased us out of the hay fields last week.

The sunshine is back,

The tractors are fueled up,

My lunch is packed...

It feels good to be back in the saddle again!

It is a gorgeous day in the hay field...

If everything goes as planned,

I will get the last 2 hay fields done today...

This is my view from the tractor

looking out across the hay field.

After 2 hours,

I have made several laps around the field...

After 4 hours

I made it to the center of the field...

A couple hours of mowing left to do...

I am nearly done with the first field...

The cowboy is on his way with the baler.

He will have this field baled before sunset!

During the rainy weather I was able to

fire up my Bernina and do some stitching...

The gentle hum of the sewing machine

was soothing after riding the tractor...

This is a 2 yard quilt sandwich

that will be cut up and sewn into a tote bag.

I am joining Melody Johnson for her

Focus on Fusing Class...
