I took this NYB off the design wall
last year when we painted the walls...
It's good to have it back up on the design wall...
it fills the room with color!
It is all set up on my sewing table:
The paper pieced arcs are complete.
I have a dozen of these blocks ready to piece...
Curved piecing.....one of my favorites!
The blocks I am piecing will go on the sides...
It's good to have you back

Wow - what an amazing work of art!! I'm so impressed.
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favorites.
ReplyDeleteJust WOW! Fabulous job, beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you remove the paper from the piecing before you put the sections together?? Do you have any problem with stretching when you do that?
ReplyDeleteYes, I remove the papers before piecing the 3 units into a block. I am careful when I take the papers off so I don't pull out any of the seams. I don't have a problem with stretching or distortion. You could stay stitch the pieced arc before you piece it into the block if you are concerned with stretching, but I have never found a need.

Ha! Love the jaunty, rhyming name! (The quilt certainly lives up to it, too!)
