Candy Bag.....Zip Cases 2

After feeding the cattle this morning,

I snuck off to the Thread Shed

to sew a few more...

These seem to go out the door

as quick as I get them made...

Everyone that sees them has the same reaction,

"Look at those, how cute are they!"

Then they take their favorite zip bag

home with them...

I am saving so many different product packages,

they all work with the iron-on vinyl...

I am not just limited to candy bags.

I am not a licorice eater,

but the Cowboy is...

He saved both of these packages for me.

So colorful and so FUN !

These bags will be given away

during the holidays.

I have saved so many packages,

I have barely made a dent in them!

There are no days off

for Cowboys and cattle...

So, from the feeding grounds here

@ the Kessi Ranch...

We Wish You Happy Holidays...

and Happy New Year !

Ice Dyeing.....Sneakers

The Ice Dyeing Buckets

are warming up by the wood stove...

Here's a peek inside the buckets:

Deep Purple and Raspberry dye powder

sprinkled on top of the ice...

A few hours later:

The ice is nearly melted...

the sneakers are taking the dye nicely !

Here comes the....Show 'n Tell:

These are kids sneakers

purchased at Hobby Lobby

They must have been 100% cotton...

they took the dye beautifully.

They will be super FUN to wear!

These are also an ice dyed pair of sneakers:

Candy Bag....Zip Cases

Candy Bags

stitched into Zip Cases

How FUN are these !!!

The secret weapon is...Iron-On Vinyl

Start saving your product bags:

When Halloween candy was on sale...

I stocked up on the larger bags:

All of these bags have been trimmed up,

cut in half and the iron-on vinyl

has been fused in place...

I also matched up zippers with each package...

These aren't just for candy packages:

Cookie packages work great...

Yes, frozen potato packages stitch up nicely:

I layer the package with batting...

I quilt a few rows of stitching to hold

the batting in place...

I put the candy right back in the bag...

it will be part of the gift when I give these away.

I also line the inside of the bag with fabric...

I square off the bottom so the bag stands up...

I cut the zippers to size,

so I use the leftover zipper as a pull

on the side of the bag.

How FUN is this peas zip case !

I am just getting started...

lots more coming soon !

Peek-A Boo......Vinyl Zip Cases

This is the view this morning as we headed

out the door at sunrise to feed the cattle...

The sun was just rising over Marys Peak

As soon as the cattle were fed,

I headed for the Thread Shed...

Peek-A Boo Bags

I cut all of the vinyl, match up
zipperand threads...

then I spend the rest of the day
stitching them together.

I prep the zippers with tabs on both ends.

This helps create a really square bag
on the top edge.

You can see the tabs installed
onto the bags above.

I also use the leftover zipper
as a pull tab on the side.

This transparent colored vinyl is
loads of FUN to play with.

I also add zipper pulls
on the ends of the zippers.

I haven't run out of vinyl yet,

so I think I will make a few more!

More To Come...

Scribble Stitching.....Tea Time !

After the cattle were fed this morning...

I spent the rest of the day in the Thread Shed...

I drew and cut out this pattern for a new

Scribble Stitch...

I challenged myself to only use fabrics

already out on my work table...

Here is the design cut out, glued down

and ready to scribble stitch...

The black stitching

definitely enhances the design...
