Peek-A Boo......Vinyl Zip Cases

This is the view this morning as we headed

out the door at sunrise to feed the cattle...

The sun was just rising over Marys Peak

As soon as the cattle were fed,

I headed for the Thread Shed...

Peek-A Boo Bags

I cut all of the vinyl, match up 

zippers and threads...

then I spend the rest of the day 

stitching them together.

I prep the zippers with tabs on both ends.

This helps create a really square bag 

on the top edge.

You can see the tabs installed 

onto the bags above.

I also use the leftover zipper 

as a pull tab on the side.

This transparent colored vinyl is 

loads of FUN to play with.

I also add zipper pulls 

on the ends of the zippers.

I haven't run out of vinyl yet,

so I think I will make a few more!

Scribble Stitching.....Tea Time !

After the cattle were fed this morning...

I spent the rest of the day in the Thread Shed...

I drew and cut out this pattern for a new

Scribble Stitch...

I challenged myself to only use fabrics 

already out on my work table...

Here is the design cut out, glued down

and ready to scribble stitch...

The black stitching 

definitely enhances the design...

Scribble Stitching.....more Happy Campers

While I was contemplating the quilting

design on the Dresden Quilt...

I moved over to the work table and cut out

and glued down another Happy Camper...

Here it is with scribble stitching...

And, a purple Happy Camper...

with scribble stitching...

All of the Happy Campers 

are stitched.......FUN !

This is Golden Girl

In our herd of cattle, she is a unique color...

on a sunny day when she is clean and dry her 

hair is nearly blonde.

This is Golden Girl's mother last Spring:

This is Golden Girl's new sister...

we named her Goldie.

She also has that beautiful unique color.

I captured this image of Goldie yesterday:

Goldie is 6 months old and just weaned.

She is looking more and more like Golden Girl

every day !

Dresden Quilt.....Sashing Design

Yesterday I was undecided on what to quilt

in that pink sashing...

Today I pulled out the dry erase board

and began to play with a few designs:

Each of these designs 

filled the sashing area nicely...

The big, round swirls look great

with the big, round feather plumes...

I am using wool batting...

my favorite for bed quilts.

Wool batting also shows off the quilting !

The first row of quilting is complete...

Three more rows to go and then the border.

I am using a quilt suspension system 

to support this heavy quilt.

Patsy Thompson has designed 

a suspension system that works great with 

sit down long arms:

I use one of these on my Bernina machine.

After feeding cattle each morning,

I try and slip into the Thread Shed

for a few hours of machine quilting...

Scribble Stitching.....Happy Camper

My entire life is organized with Sticky Notes...

Most of my quilt designs begin 

with a Sticky Note...

This Sticky Note evolved into 

an actual pattern...

Happy Camper......Pattern

Just a glue stick holds the fabric pieces

onto the background square.

Happy Camper is now ready for some 

scribble stitching...

These polka dot fabrics are calling to me...

Yes, another Happy Camper is born...
