for sure !

I spray paint metal bed frames

and use them as flower fencing.

The summer flowers have inspired

my quilting over the years:

Elk in the Hay Field...

Last evening the Elk herd

came down from the timber...

Their spring calves

could not jump over the fence,

so are waiting for them in the top left

of this photo above.

These images were taken through the

living room window, so aren't the best quality.

If you double click them, they will enlarge.

There is a Blue Heron sitting in a tree

along the river watching the elk graze...

There are 5 elk cows with their yearling calves

in the hay field...

and their new spring calves

on the other side of the fence.

The sun was setting quickly,

but I manage to get them on video....enjoy!

String Quilt.....Finished!

The machine quilting is completed on this

string quilt

The negative white space on this quilt

just begged to be feathered!

I returned this string quilt

so they can bind and label it.

String Quilt.....Under the Needle

No Hay Fields today...

The RAIN ran us out of the hay fields...

Instead of tractor work...

I spent the day in the Thread Shed.

Once it dries out,

we will be back to the business of making hay.

I am machine quilting this quilt

I spent 10 hours on my Sweet Sixteen...

it is just as much FUN as operating a tractor!

First I mark a spine for the feather work...

I do have a fondness for the

SewLine air erase pen.

The spine is marked...

now it is pedal to the metal.

I do love me some feathers!

The feathers filled

the negative space nicely.

I quilted swirls in the pieced string section...

the dense swirl quilting

helped push down that area

so the feathers pop up.

I am so close to being done...

maybe 2 or 3 more hours to finish.

We are sorting yearling cattle tomorrow,

so the quilt and the hay will have to wait.

I will post more images when this is finished.
