Wedding Star Quilt......Progress Report

This week I attended a

3 Day Quilting Retreat at the Palace...

I continued piecing this Wedding Star Quilt...

I think I can piece these arc and melon units

with my eyes closed...

There is no end to these!

I am close to the half way point:

8 rings x 8 rings

104 x 104 inches

Do you think I will have this done by summer?

Baby Quilt 2......Hexagon Paper Pieced

This is the next baby quilt...

I am using the English Paper Piecing technique...

The papers are lightly glued onto the fabric...

The glue will wash right out

when it is laundered.

This is the fabric I used to pull all of the

other fabrics from...

The hexagons are basted

and ready to stitch together...

Depression Era Reproduction 1930 fabrics...

Back side of quilt top...

Just so you can see...

these are very large 3 inch hexagons...

this quilt should hand piece together quickly!

Baby Quilt 1....ABC

It's been awhile since I've worked in a

traditional quilting style,

let's see how the day goes...

I've had this ABC panel for years and years...

I cut the panel into strips...

I stitched together a strip set of

depression era fabrics...

I cross cut the strips sets into squares...

This is starting to look like something...

I pawed through the fabric cupboard and found this

red and white dot fabric for a border...

I also found this flannel ABC fabric

 for a backing...

It's amazing what you can find in the cupboard

if you dig deep!

Completed ABC Baby Quilt Top

Need to get this basted and under the needle...
