Gunnr's Buffalo Quilt...

I haven't spent much time in the Thread Shed

since June....

Thread Shed and Hen House

We have had rainy days, so I am ready

to play indoors today...

Come on in....let's see what the day brings!

My Happy Room awaits me...

Gunnr has decided it is time to make him

a Quilt of his very own...

Gunnr has 2 loves......Buffalo and Cheese

I rounded up a few fabrics for that theme!

Very Cheesy Fabric...

Once the fabric selection was over...

Gunnr settled down for a nap

 under the sewing machine.

The Dinner Plate Dahlias are putting on a show

just outside the Thread Shed Window...

Let the piecing begin...

First 2 fabrics pieced together...

I added on a hunk of cheese fabric...

First 4 fabrics pieced together...

I will continue adding fabrics

until the quilt is long enough.

Gunnr was more than happy to try out the quilt top

for size...

I rounded up some flannel fabric for the back side...

The Buffalo Quilt is......under the needle!

Hexy Text Quilt Top.......Done Piecing

I never leave home without a Take-a-Long Quilt

I started piecing this quilt a year ago while staying in

Yellowstone Park...

It was fitting that I finished it this year

while staying at the park.

I pieced in sections to create a straight edge:

The Hexagon Text Quilt Top is done...

It is ready to go under the needle...

Take-a-Long Quilts become such companions

while traveling...

I miss piecing on this already.

The Humming Birds are still

buzzing the flower beds...

We are enjoying the last of the Hollyhocks...

We are savoring the last of summer time

in the back yard...

Gunnr was so happy to be reunited

with Heath in Idaho...

They celebrated their reunion

with a nap together in the trailer.

I am beginning Gunnr's Buffalo Quilt

today.....I will take a few photos

of my progress...

On The Road.....Part 6

We are heading back to Oregon...

Here are a few more travel photos

from Idaho and Wyoming.

Enjoy!

Bison Calf

Heath (our son) climbed Sawtell Mountain

Island Park, Idaho

Island Park Squirrel

This little fellow is destined to be in a quilt someday...

Yellowstone Ravens

Island Park, Idaho.....Sunset

Because of the nearby forest fires in Yellowstone,

all of the sunsets during our visit to Island Park

looked just like this.

Heath is tracking grizzly bears in Island Park:

He took Brad to work with him this week...

Brad is kneeling by a grizzly day bed here...

Brad is removing grizzly hair

from the bed to be analyzed

Heath and Brad.....after a long day

of hiking and working

Heath took Brad to Yellowstone Lake...

they spent the day participating in a Lake Trout Study.

The Pelicans on Yellowstone Lake...

They follow the fishing boat around

It's been a great trip!

I am looking forward to getting back into

the Thread Shed and getting a quilt under

the needle.

I will also post new quilt sketch designs

as time allows.
