Thread Shed....New Floor 4

Day 3

9am.....walked in the Thread Shed...

I wanted to turn around and RUN AWAY!

The fabric cupboards are in place...

So I thought I would put away some fabric...

I keep all my fabrics in closed cupboards

to keep out the dust and light.

Fabric Cupboard 2

I love old furniture...

Nearly all of the Thread Shed furniture is vintage.

5pm.....still a LOT left to sort through and put away:

I decided to tough it out and keep working...

This corner is all cleaned out...

The Bernina is all set up again,

The bookshelf is loaded...

The island cupboard is cleared off!

8pm....I am calling it a day:

I will be back at it tomorrow.

I need to clean off my big work table in the center of the room

and put all of those totes away in the storage room.

Thread Shed......New Floor 3

New Floor Installation....Day 2

Gunnr is overseeing the new floor...

We have everything pushed back to the front door

to give Brad room to work...

About 5 feet of flooring left to install...

Going...

Going...

Gone!

Now the real work begins....putting it all back.

I moved the Sweet Sixteen under the window

The media cabinet and book shelf are set up on the back wall.

The storage cupboards are set up on the right side of the room.

6pm....going inside to cook dinner.

More tomorrow...

Thread Shed......New Floor 2

The new flooring is down about 4 feet into the room...

We moved a few of the cupboards onto the new floor...

So we could install more flooring...

We are about 6 feet into the room at this point...

We have made it half way into the room....10 feet deep

This is the second half of the room that needs flooring...

Brad has made it to the design wall...

the flooring is now 12 feet deep into the room...

This is as far as we can go tonight with the new flooring:

We have 8 feet left to do tomorrow...

We have moved 4 more feet of furniture out of the way...

This is where we will start laying flooring tomorrow...

This is the view as I close the door of the Thread Shed tonight.

Contrary to the label on the flooring box...

This will NOT be installed in a day!

More to come...

Thread Shed......New Flooring 1

The Thread Shed is 12 years old

and in need of a new floor

We are installing wood laminate flooring today...

We are starting from the front door and working our way
into the 20 x 16 foot room...

We made a special trip into town (2 hours round trip)

to buy the Installation Tools we didn't know we needed.

Unfortunately, the room is not empty.

We move everything back a few feet and lay some flooring.

It will take us a lot longer to lay the floor because

we are moving all of the contents as we go.

From the front door looking into the room...

Lots of stuff to move out of the way so we can lay

the flooring.....

Brad set up a work table on the tailgate of the pick up

We worked until 6pm tonight.

I will have more to show you tomorrow...

Sketch Book.....Background Fillers

A few more quilting designs I drew while traveling:

These work great to fill in background areas,

negative space and around applique work

Innies and Outies are always a favorite and look so organic.

This is what you draw when your coffee has you

a bit over-stimulated!

While traveling back to Oregon we enjoyed

the autumn landscape...

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

The golden autumn grasses are glowing this time of year.

 Pulling down our driveway...

We had some autumn color right in our own yard...

This October Glory tree colored up while we were gone...

It was a great trip, so relaxing and inspiring.

Now to get to work and install a
new floor in the Thread Shed.

Enjoy all this color!

Sketch Book......Background Fillers

A few background fills I drew in the sketch book while traveling:

These can also be used in skinny sashings and borders

These are freeing and FUN to draw out!

I was inspired by the circles and lines above on the left page:

So I drew them out on a larger scale here.
