Sketch Book....Feathers w/Filled Spines

More Feathers from the Sketch Book

Lately, I have been having fun filling the feather spines:

This spine has 2 sections....they are filled with bubbles

This spine has 3 sections....they are filled with clam shells

This spine is filled with wiggly lines

This spine is filled with the candy ribbon design

It is FUN to draw out different designs to fill the spine!

I have lots more Filled Spine Designs to share...

Thread Shed.....New Floor....DONE!

Day 4

9am

I put all of the textile painting supplies back in their cupboard...

My supplies have outgrown the cupboard

but it will do for now.

Everything was unloaded from every cupboard

in here, so we could move them across

the room as we put down the new floor:

This is a neat old kitchen cupboard....quite vintage.

It holds a lot of supplies...

The doors close up and the clutter is gone.

This is an old armoir that was my son's baby dresser.

I refinished it for him 27 years ago

It also holds a lot of supplies, but hides the clutter.

3pm.....hauling tote boxes out to the store room.

I want to make a skirt for the table in the center of the room.

I need to store my sewing machines under there,

and a skirt will hide them.

The Big Board is all set up...

Big Board    65 x 30 inches

Brad built it for me 10 years ago.

5pm......I swept the floor.....here is the Grand Tour:

Right side of room....

Storage Cupboards, Cutting Table, Bookshelf

Gunnr's bed is back under the sewing machine....he snores a lot!

Cutting Table 2 across from the sewing table...

Media Cabinet, 8 foot Design Wall and Sweet Sixteen Machine

Thread Shed.......20 x 16 Feet

2 days to lay the wood flooring

Thread Shed....New Floor 4

Day 3

9am.....walked in the Thread Shed...

I wanted to turn around and RUN AWAY!

The fabric cupboards are in place...

So I thought I would put away some fabric...

I keep all my fabrics in closed cupboards

to keep out the dust and light.

Fabric Cupboard 2

I love old furniture...

Nearly all of the Thread Shed furniture is vintage.

5pm.....still a LOT left to sort through and put away:

I decided to tough it out and keep working...

This corner is all cleaned out...

The Bernina is all set up again,

The bookshelf is loaded...

The island cupboard is cleared off!

8pm....I am calling it a day:

I will be back at it tomorrow.

I need to clean off my big work table in the center of the room

and put all of those totes away in the storage room.

New Floor Installation....Day 2

Gunnr is overseeing the new floor...

We have everything pushed back to the front door

to give Brad room to work...

About 5 feet of flooring left to install...

Going...

Going...

Gone!

Now the real work begins....putting it all back.

I moved the Sweet Sixteen under the window

The media cabinet and book shelf are set up on the back wall.

The storage cupboards are set up on the right side of the room.

6pm....going inside to cook dinner.

Thread Shed......New Floor 2

The new flooring is down about 4 feet into the room...

We moved a few of the cupboards onto the new floor...

So we could install more flooring...

We are about 6 feet into the room at this point...

We have made it half way into the room....10 feet deep

This is the second half of the room that needs flooring...

Brad has made it to the design wall...

the flooring is now 12 feet deep into the room...

This is as far as we can go tonight with the new flooring:

We have 8 feet left to do tomorrow...

We have moved 4 more feet of furniture out of the way...

This is where we will start laying flooring tomorrow...

This is the view as I close the door of the Thread Shed tonight.

Contrary to the label on the flooring box...

This will NOT be installed in a day!

More to come...
