Baby Quilt 1....ABC

It's been awhile since I've worked in a

traditional quilting style,

let's see how the day goes...

I've had this ABC panel for years and years...

I cut the panel into strips...

I stitched together a strip set of

depression era fabrics...

I cross cut the strips sets into squares...

This is starting to look like something...

I pawed through the fabric cupboard and found this

red and white dot fabric for a border...

I also found this flannel ABC fabric

 for a backing...

It's amazing what you can find in the cupboard

if you dig deep!

Completed ABC Baby Quilt Top

Need to get this basted and under the needle...

Sketch Book.....Leaf Designs 5

More Leaf Designs from my

Quilting Sketch Book...

Again, I chalk out the basic leaf shape

on the fabric...

Then fill in the leaf with designs.

If you can draw out the designs without

your pen leaving the paper...

then you can stitch them out onto your quilt.

Your pen is the needle...

your paper is the quilt.

Draw the designs out a few times on paper,

then go to the machine and stitch them out

onto your quilt.

This Doodle Leaf was inspired

by the design below...
