Quilting Sketch Book.....Bump Back Feathers

Another Feather from My Sketch Book

of Quilting Designs:

Bump Back Feather:

I learned to do this Bump Back technique

after watching online videos.

It has quickly become my favorite way to

stitch out feathers on my quilts.

Quilting Sketch Book....Feathers Filling Space

A few more sketches...

I enjoy choosing a shape like a square,

rectangle, circle, etc...

then filling that given space with feathers.

Stuff the space full of plumes!

This will help you fill the available space

on your quilt top when machine quilting.

A long rectangle filled with plumes...

This is what the spine looked like

before I added the plumes:

Give it a try!

This is a great way to practice filling space.
