Stencil Blog Hop

My stencils arrived in the mail:
Tire Tracks and Slices
Applying Jacquard Discharge Paste
over the Tire Tracks Stencil with a foam roller onto
hand dyed fabric.
The dark areas are wet from the paste...
This needs time to dry...
Slices Stencil
Apply DeColourant Paste with a foam brush
This needs time to dry...
Gunnr watches over the fabrics while they dry.
Ironing the fabric with the Jacquard Discharge Paste...
the dark green fabric now looks like a batik
Ironing the DeColourant...
both front and back side are discharged
Tire Tread Stencil on Stretched Canvas
Light Molding Paste is spread over the stencil
Fiber Paste is spread over Slice Stencil
If you look close, you can see the design.
This needs time to dry...
Tulip Spray Paints
Spraying paint across canvas surface...
Blending wet paint with towel:
the stenciled areas created a textured background

I used the fabrics to create zipper bags:
Kathi cut a section off this snow dyed fabric...
Using both the Tire Tracks and the Slice stencils,
she sprays over them with Tulip and Shimmer Sprays
She also applies Lumiere Metallic Paint over the slice stencil
Looks good......needs a focal point
Using the slice stencil and pink Lumiere paint,
she creates Hollyhocks as the focal point
As you can see...
we gave the stencils a real work out today!
We created fabrics to use in future art quilts.
We found the stencils to be ideal for most any surface,
especially textiles.
The stencil plastic is heavier than most and they
stand up to vigorous scrubbing at the end of the day.
Yes, the room is back in order......but...
I like it better when it looks like this!
