Big Flower Quilt.....Progress

Remember this Big Hexy Flower?

I chose these 4 lime green fabrics
for the background hexies...

I put the light green background hexies
up on the design wall with the BIG Flowers:

they look NEON green......eeek!

After looking at this on the design wall
for the last 2 months, I took them all down.

I found a richer, calmer green fabric
and wrapped it around the hexy papers:

Ahhh....much better.

There is a bed sheet under the hexagons.
They will be pinned onto the sheet.
Then I can keep them in order as I
hand piece the hexagons.

This is a bed quilt and will finish

102 inches square.

Lots of hand piecing for these cold winter nights.

Giddy Up.....Horse Quilt

Late last summer I purchased a horse panel...

I added a gold inner border

and a pieced brown outer border

I just finished the machine quilting
and trimmed the edges square...

Lots of fun quilting on the panel,
triangles quilted into the gold border,
feathers on the brown border...

This is a lap size quilt...

Horse Fabric on the Back Side...

Here it is all bound and
ready to wrap up and put under the tree:

Vinyl Zip Cases...

Making a few more zip cases

for holiday gift giving...

I purchased the rose colored vinyl

at Joann Fabrics

I squared off the bottom so the bags

will stand up...

I ran the self adhesive vinyl through the
Sizzix Big Shot Plus

to decorate the bags...

I also made a few more with clear vinyl.

Stuff them full of goodies

and give them to friends and family.

Happy Holidays!
