Up on the wall in the living room

for the first time...

The mountain blocks at the top 

are paper pieced,

the trees and bear paw blocks 

are traditionally pieced.

The light green machine quilting thread

blends beautifully with all 

of the colors in the quilt.

 It's finished and we love it !

Moose Quilt & Hay Season...

 

This is our current living room quilt:

How much do I love this Moose !

He is hanging out on the quilt rack

in the living room...

The moose has a lot of purple in him

so I had to include purple in the color story...

It is hay season here in Western Oregon:

The Cowboy has my little red tractor

hooked up to the hay mower...

I am mowing the first hay field today...

This will be my view for the rest of the day.

It takes about 7 hours to get this field mowed.

I have my head phones on listening to lots

of great music and lots of ravens 

to keep me company.

Swoon Quilt.....DONE !

 

I began working on this quilt last April...

Today I stitched the binding in place

and put it right on our bed !

It will feel wonderful to sleep under

this quilt tonight...

It measures 92 x 92 inches

and fits nicely on our queen size bed...

The name of the quilt pattern is....Swoon

I worked on it once a month with my

local quilt group...

We all finished our own quilts together.

It's always a great feeling of completion

to sleep under a handmade quilt.

Garden Tea Party Quilt...

 

Time to get a binding on this quilt...

I place the folgers can on the floor 

between my feet and the binding 

feeds beautifully up and onto 

the quilt as I stitch it in place.

Binding clips hold the binding in place

as I stitch it down...

Almost done stitching the binding...

always a great feeling !

She's all bound and ready to go...

It was raining today, so I couldn't take her

outside for a full length photo shoot...

This was a FUN one to machine quilt...

Always a great feeling to get a quilt 

to completion...

This quilt is on its' way to someone

who has had surgery and now radiation.

I hope it brings her comfort and peace

when she needs it most.

It is quilted, bound and up on the wall

in our living room...

This horse panel is surrounded with

english paper pieced hexagons...

I love paper piecing and it was fun

to incorporate that into the

edge treatment on this quilt...

This image reminds me of looking out

the kitchen window to see our own horses

looking back at me over the yard fence...

Baby Nines....Quilted & Bound

The Baby Nines Quilt is....DONE ! 

I machine quilted daisies all over...

I just kind of made this design up

as I went along....it was great FUN !

I had this lavender binding cut out

a few years ago and never used it...

it works nicely on this baby quilt.

How about that PINK backing...

This is a gift for our tractor mechanic...

He has been coming out to our place for

a few weeks now working on my

red tractor (it blew up last hay season)...

His baby is due any day

and the baby quilt is ready to go !

Poppies Quilt...

 

The binding is stitched in place

and the Poppies Quilt is on our bed !

It is definitely Spring here in Western Oregon

and the flowers are beginning to bloom,

even the ones on our bed !

I absolutely loved this line of fabric

and just had to make a quilt with it...

The center Poppy panel is so beautiful...

I kept the outer borders white so there

would be no distraction from the 

center of the quilt...

This quilt brightens up our room...

Makes me happy every time I walk

in the room...
