Freezer Paper...Resist
I pulled out a roll of freezer paper and
sliced it up with my rotary cutter...
This was FUN and relaxing!
I went to the fabric cupboard
and pulled out some hand dyes...
I ironed the freezer paper strips to
the hand dyes...
It was enjoyable to create patterns...
These are now ready to be over-painted...
I am using Speedball and Versatex
Screen Printing Inks
They leave the hand of the fabric soft.
I will roll the inks on with
foam rollers...
I mix purple and brown inks
to paint over this dusty lavender hand dye...
I mix purple and blue inks
to paint over this light blue hand dye...
I mix white, purple and blue inks
to paint over this light blue hand dye...
I mix white, purple and pink inks
to paint over this light blue hand dye...
After painting was done,
I put everything outside to dry in the sun...
I sat on the Cowboy's Roping Dummy
and peeled the freezer paper off
the painted fabrics...
Here comes the.....Show 'n Tell:
All that is left to do is
heat set the fabrics...
I am looking forward to using these
new surface design fabrics
in my abstract quilts.
