Plow Girl...

My sewing machine sits quietly today...

This machine is fueled up and ready to go:

John Deere 4440

The Cowboy hooked the plow up today

and I am ready rock!

Just beyond the tractor is our place,

you can see the red barn and yellow buildings...

The little yellow building

to the left of the barn

is my Thread Shed...

This is the front of the Thread Shed.

The Cowboy built it in 2000

This photo was taken from
the ridge above our place:

In the center of the photo

is our house and red barn.

Just beyond are the hay fields

where I will be plowing today.

It is dry and the plow is kicking up some dust...

I am safe inside the cab of the tractor...

dust free, the A/C is going

and I'm listening to my tunes!

Next Spring this will be a beautiful hay field!

Life...in the Hay Fields

It's that time of the year...

Hay Season.....2019

No time for Sewing Machines...

lots of time spent in the Hay Fields

This little, red, beauty was my Valentines gift

from the cowboy a few years ago...

I love it!

Today I am mowing one of the hay fields with it.

This hay will be fed to our cattle this winter...

This is the view from the tractor cab...

I better get back to work...

Here it comes.....2018

Happy New Year 2018

From Kessi Farms

In the New Year we continue with the feeding

and care of our commercial beef cattle.

In February we begin calving season,

so I will have  lots of images of

baby calves to share with you.

In the early Spring we will be getting

the hay fields ready so we can begin

cutting hay in June and July.

In between all of this I plan to keep my

sewing machine humming along

and share my quilting journey

with you in the coming year.

Wishing all of YOU

Love and Piece in 2018

Summer...

It is definitely summer here in Western Oregon...

The yearling cattle are quickly eating up any green grass

that is left in the fields...

It won't be long and we will be shipping out the yearlings...

I will miss them coming up to the yard fence in the mornings,

just barely visible through the fog.

My days have been spent in the hay fields...mowing hay...

see the red tractor in the very center of this image?

We are nearly done with haying.

This was my last field to mow.

You can see me taking the photo in the top left of this image.

My favorite guy is baling this field today.

I will be saying good-bye.....for awhile.

We are hosting our son's wedding here at home in July...

just 3 weeks away.....no time for blogging.

Gunnr wishes you all a summer filled with

sunshine and smiles!

This is the last image I will share from

my online Photoshop class...

Idaho Quilting Retreat...

Time for a road trip...

After a 10 hour drive we arrived in Idaho

I am at the Bossom Buddies Quilt Retreat

This is my home away from home

for the next week

I plan to piece my Double Wedding Ring Quilt

into rows...

I brought along my Vintage Singer 185K

so she could stretch her legs for a few days!

I spent several hours getting my rings up on the

design wall...

I am ready to begin piecing this into a quilt top

Enough rings leftover for a runner...

This is the hallway leading to the bedrooms.

At the end of the hall is the large work space

where we will be sewing.

My first row is coming together nicely...

We jumped out of bed each morning and went right to our

sewing machines...  still in our jammies!

Yes, that is snow falling behind us through the window.

Dawn is playing with a puppy

that belongs to the camp host.

Linda is quilting on FISH...

How FUN are these?

Quilting from the back side...

A well-loved Quilt...

We all wore tattoos...

Ate lots of yummy food...

and sewed lots of stitches!

I am so happy I made the trip to Idaho...

I made lots of wonderful memories!
