Commission......Owl Panel

Owl Panel

When I was commissioned to create wall art

from this owl panel I was told to do anything

I wanted.....and, if possible, to

make it looked like a framed image...

I pieced flying geese into the border treatment

I found some wooden boards fabric

in my stash and created a frame around it...

Top left corner.....stitched a mitered corner

to look like a wooden frame

I felt that is all this owl panel needed...

It is ready to be basted and quilted...

more to come !

I will leave you with this parting shot:

This is our rooster, Merle...

He takes such good care of his hens.

Here they are at the end of the day

roosting on the hitching post behind the house.

First Baby Calf.....Valentine !

Our very first calf of the year...

born on Valentines Day!

This sweet little baby was born in the

middle of a snow storm this morning...

Mama and baby are doing just great!

He is a week early, but nobody told him that !

Reflections of Autumn.....Quilt Top DONE

I started this quilt in November...

Reflections of Autumn

This is what it looked like in December...

( It is my Monday project )

By January the quilt top was complete...

It wasn't big enough for the bed...

so I added 2 additional borders...

It now measures 90 x 90

My favorite part of this quilt is this

gorgeous wide border of leaves...

It is now February and I found this beautiful

gold backing fabric 108 x 108...

Machine quilting can begin !

We were able to get out and do some

traveling along the rugged Oregon Coast

Port Orford, Oregon

It was good to get away for a few days

before the cows begin calving soon.

The mama cows all have

babies in their tummies.

The first baby is due February 22nd.
