Moving Cattle...

We are moving Cattle this evening...

The livestock trailer is backed up to the silo...

The mama cow and her twins are loaded up.

We drove them across the river and a mile

down the road to our house...

The twin calves are unloaded first...

The yearling cattle are lined up around the

corral to check out the new arrivals...

Mama Cow is unloaded into the corral...

It will be easier for the Cow Boss and I

to let the twin calves nurse twice a day

here @ home in our own barn.

We are hoping in a few weeks Mama cow will

want BOTH of her twin calves.

The chickens had to come and see what

the commotion was all about...

We have had nearly 60 inches of rainfall

since the first of the year....

We are enjoying a sunny evening...

I took the camera along to move the cattle...

  1. Made me smile at how curious the yearlings were to see the twins!! Rubbernecking like crazee lol!! But Big Mama got the ovation alright...and those chickens just had to see what all the ruckus was about, right?? Great video..thanks for sharing such a sweet and fun moment in your life...hugs, Julierose

  3. Those yearlings were certainly excited to have new neighbors!!! It is incredible the amount of weight put on by the cattle in a single year! Chickens are always nosy, aren't they? Sure hope momma decides both her babies are meant for her to take care of!! If she doesn't accept them, how long will the segregation of the little "family" continue? I have no idea how long calves need to nurse.
