I am enrolled in Melody Johnson's
Our second homework assignment is to create
fused shapes...
Strips......straight and curvy.
I plan to sub-cut skinny, long strips from
the black and white units.
Squares, Triangles, Circles and X's
Spirals and Wavy Lines
I found it terribly relaxing to create these units
I am drawn to circles so had a play...
Confetti Circles on the Left
Sticks and Stones on the Right
I call this.....Ring Toss
This is my fusing set up...
Small cutting mat on the left,
Press Board with Release Paper
and Iron on the right.
I listen to a book on tape and FUSE
to my heart's content.

Such a fun class! I'm working on my third piece and am enjoying it so much except my FMQ stinks and so does my Bernina. The tension is driving me crazy and I want to throw it in the pool. But....I'll calm down and keep at it. I don't want the classes to end!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan......be sweet to your Bernina.....she is your best friend. Perhaps the fusible is throwing your tension off. Play around with it and see if you can get her humming along again.

Love the ring toss, I'm going to steal this. Your working area is SO tidy, mine was a mess of fused fabrics all over the place.

ReplyDeleteIs there a trick to removing the paper pieces when they are SO tiny?
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon......the paper is removed BEFORE you cut the shapes....this prevents fabric fraying.
