We are cleaning out the flower beds...
This is the view out the front door...
The hydrangea are even more beautiful
at this last stage of of blooming...
The blue blossoms have turned pink and purple
I capture lots of images of them this time of year...
I will miss them over the winter months ahead...
These images will keep me inspired
until next spring...
The rain is coming and the flower beds
need to be put to bed for the winter...
We mulch the flower beds with
lots of leaves from the flowering cherry trees...
The Red Maple trees are still
putting on a show...
They soaked in all of that bright sunshine
all summer long...
Now they are giving it back so us
with all of these bright colors...
I feel as if we are saying
Good Bye to Summer...

Your garden is beautiful, no matter the season! Why do you put the cherry tree leaves in the flower beds? What do those leaves do that no other leaves can?

DeleteThe trees mulch the flower bed and help prevent weeds from growing...as the leaves decompose it adds nitrogen to the soil. These leaves are thick and last much longer than most other leaves that rot and disappear quickly. These leaves are still there come spring time.

That maple tree is fantastic! I have never seen one in person, but I have imagined this is what a majestic maple would look like. Winter is coming, and your yard looks fabulous.

(You may get 2 comments)--Your fall is soooooo beautiful. That maple tree is glorious-it must be a joy to see in all the seasons. The hydrangeas are my favorite, but our seasons are too short to see the change in colours, so it was nice to see yours in transition. Lovely pictures!

DeleteWhen we moved into our new house in 1987 the first thing we did was plant lots of trees. We love the fall colors and wanted them right in our own yard! Lots of fir trees grow here in Oregon, but we wanted lots of colors!
