Crows...

The pie cherry tree in our yard is ripe.

The crows have been perched all over the branches
munching on those tart cherries.

Each time I step outside with the camera, the crows fly away...

The photo below is the best I can get from inside the house,
through the dirty window:

No the photo isn't much to look at...
until I zoomed in, cropped out, enhanced in iphoto...

and look what I ended up with:

I am more than happy with this version of the crow photo.

I decided to work on this second image below:

This is the same crow, but he has turned his head just a bit...

 Here is the first version....

I cropped in a bit tighter and like this one.

Then I went back to the first crow image...
I cropped it a bit differently, and added more saturation.

I printed all 3 images on cotton sateen fabric
with the wide format printer:

I believe a crow quilt is in my future!

Summer has finally arrived here in
Western Oregon.....Enjoy it!

  1. I cannot help it - pardon me... "now that is something to CROW about!" or 'crow-dropping' or... just VERY, very, cool! Love the saturation and crow-cropping-hopping you did!!! :)

  3. Luanne, I'm always in awe of the projects you're doing, thanks for giving me hope whilst I work one year long quilt project for our 2013 Centennial.
Do you ever use online photo toys, I've found the bighugelabs.com site good as well.
    I love the crows!

  4. Thanks for the heads up on the photo site. There are a few things I want to try out there.
I have used Picasa, which is a free online photo site.
I have Photoshop Elements that I use occasionally.
I mostly use the iphoto program that came with my mac computer.
That is what I used for the crow images. It is handy and easy, so I use it the most.
Have a great summer up there in Canada!

    My Best To You,
    LuAnn
