ReplyDeleteHi Pamela, They are a quickie project that gives you the satisfaction of completion. In the past I have made them for people instead of sending them a birthday card....FUN!

I did them one year. I think it was 2011. They are all in a box. It was fun but by the end of the year it had become a chore. It could be fun to do one where the materials had to be related to things you worked on that week: fabric and yarn scraps, threads, paints.. whatever.

DeleteIt is FUN to get them out and look them over from time to time....kind of a record of your creating progress. A few times I challenged myself to work from my scrap cutting pile by the cutting table.....just as you had suggested....we all like a challenge every now and then. I have been enjoying your posts all summer.

I have never seen any Journal Quilts. Yours are amazing! You are so creative to use so many different techniques! They look like such fun, now I want to try my hand.
ReplyDeleteJournal Quilts were all the rage about 12 to 15 years ago. Most common amongst art quilters, but every stitcher was having a go at them. The most common size was about the size of a sheet of paper.
