Cattle Drive...

We are moving the cattle to Spring Pastures...

Cow and Calf pairs are being herded along

the gravel road several miles up river...

The older cows lead the way...

they have made this trip many times

and know exactly where they are going.

The new baby calves stay close to mama...

this is their first cattle drive.

We make the trip in the early evening

when there is less traffic on the road...

2 hours later.....we are at the new pasture:

Plenty of tall, green grass for everybody !

The sun is just beginning to set

and the lighting is beautiful...

The cows are happy...

  2. This was so, so interesting to watch the cattle drive. It was very peaceful and easy--in my naivety I thought this was stressful and fast and hard on the cattle. Lovely to see.. Thanks for sharing this great video.

    1. Hi Robbie,
The spring cattle drive is always a favorite of mine. The cows are always so happy to get some of that tall, green grass. When I stop by the pasture to visit them each day, all I can hear is munching....they are content. The new baby bulls are lots of FUN!

      Have a great day,
      LuAnn
