Orange Peel / Pumpkin Seed Quilt......Machine Quilting

I spent the day with my Monday quilt group...

Yes, the orange peel quilt is.....

under the needle !

I purchased this quilt support from

I never machine quilt on a domestic machine
without it....ever !

Absolutely NO DRAG when machine quilting.
It is the only way to go !

I drew myself a little road map to remind me

which direction the feathers go...

I have one block quilted so far...

the lighting isn't the best right now

to view the quilting stitches.

Here is a close up view of the quilting...

I will refer to my road map as I quilt along

to keep me going in the right direction.

I quilted about 4 hours this afternoon

and went through 3 bobbins and

completed 4 rows of quilting.

It is so good to have this baby finally

under the needle.

More to Come.....Next Monday !

Cattle Drive...

We are moving the cattle to Spring Pastures...

Cow and Calf pairs are being herded along

the gravel road several miles up river...

The older cows lead the way...

they have made this trip many times

and know exactly where they are going.

The new baby calves stay close to mama...

this is their first cattle drive.

We make the trip in the early evening

when there is less traffic on the road...

2 hours later.....we are at the new pasture:

Plenty of tall, green grass for everybody !

The sun is just beginning to set

and the lighting is beautiful...

The cows are happy...

Calving Season continues...

We have been at it since February.....

Calving

The Cowboy walks through the cow herd

each morning checking for new calves...

Tomato 8 and her new calf

The White Heifer and her new calf...

Yup, this just might be the super cutest calf

of the year !

Last week we rounded up the yearling calves...

We vaccinated, wormed, fly tagged

and moved them across the river

to summer pasture:

This is Buffalo Bill
He was born last year and is now a year old.

It was in the 30's this morning
when we checked on the cow herd...

The Turkey Vultures were huddled together

trying to keep warm

No sunshine and No solar bathing today...

New Baby Calves.....Enjoy the Video:
