Improv....Technique 1

Improv.....Technique 1

2 rectangles:

7 x 12 inches each

Slice in half on the diagonal....random cuts

Cut a strip of fabric and

insert between the rectangles

At random intervals, slice up the sewn rectangles

Now the fun begins...

twist and turn the strips

try out different lay outs...

this is the third layout....hard to decide

I settled on this lay out of the strips...

stitched them together and trimmed the edges.

This improv technique was great FUN!

This is our newest set of twin calves:

Number 46 is a heifer, Number 47 is a bull calf.

Their mama doesn't have enough milk for two.

After she nurses them, we supplement them with

half a bottle of calf milk replacer.

  2. Love your improv piecing!! Great colors! Oh, the twins are so cute...will you be keeping them, with mom, in the near barn so you can feed them after she is finished? Will mom's milk production increase to meet the demand (like mine did!!)? How many times a day do you need to feed them?

    1. Yes, twins are always cute together. No we will not be keep them. Because the twins are a male and a female that makes the female a freemartin or free-martin (sometimes martin heifer) is an infertile female mammal with masculinized behavior and non-functioning ovaries, so she won't breed or reproduce.

We are hoping mama cow will rebound from giving birth and product more milk, but for now they get half a bottle twice a day after they nurse the mama cow.

Glad you like the improv technique....it is great FUN!
